BE PART OF THE JOURNEY
A music critic once said of The Philippine Montessori Center Instrumental Ensemble, “Listening to these pre-school tots of 4 to 6 years old is simply a gratifying experience.”
Their bright smiles and cheeky grins belie their capabilities as musicians. With regular training, members of The Philippine Montessori Center Instrumental Ensemble exhibit a level of concentration, discipline, teamwork and artistic fluency that is remarkable for their very young age. We invite you to be a part of their journey as they perform and showcase young Filipino talent on the local and international stages.

Showcasing Filipino Talent for 30 years
The Philippine Montessori Center Instrumental Ensemble (PMCIE) is a one-of-a-kind percussion ensemble of pre-school children, aged 4 to 6. Among the youngest, if not the youngest, percussion ensemble in the world, the PMCIE plays an impressive repertoire of classical, cultural and Broadway pieces on unconventional instruments, such as the marimba, xylophone, glockenspiel, timpani and angklung. Since its formation 30 years ago, PMCIE has performed on local and international stages, showcasing the musical and world-class talent of these young Filipino children. The group has impressed audiences in prominent venues, such as the Philippine International Convention Center, the Cultural Center of the Philippines, Malacañang Palace and New York’s Lincoln Center, Merkin Concert Hall and Queen's Theatre in the Park, to name a few.
This year, the PMCIE wishes to pursue another exciting opportunity to promote the Philippines as young musical ambassadors on the international stage. “Pinoys to the World: A Celebration of Filipino Musical Artistry” is a series of performances that the PMCIE will be having in 2019, culminating in a grand performance with The Nightingales (former soprano soloists of the renowned Philippine Madrigal Singers), at the iconic Carnegie Hall in New York City on May 31, 2019.
